Rebecca's
work, additionally, concentrates on her experimentation of precious
metal clay, for which she won a grant from the Arts Council of
England to research and develop. Precious metal clay is very
fine silver filings held together with a binder. The clay can
be shaped, carved and moulded like a normal clay, and when it is
fired the binder burns away leaving a 99.9% silver creation.
Precious
metal clay has enabled Rebecca to develop specialised techniques
and processes to create unique pieces. Each design is individual
and unique, giving great scope for more one off production
pieces.
